Working Group on Bilateral/Unilateral Comparison. At the 2005 meeting of the International Collegium of Rehabilitative Audiology in Gainesville, Florida, ICRA formed a new working group to ascertain the need for and potential design of a randomized control trial to compare the benefits of and candidature for bilateral versus unilateral hearing aid fittings. At the present time the working group members are securing funding for a planning phase of a multi-site, multi-nation, randomized control trial for eventual submission to an appropriate funding agency. A short, descriptive document outlining the characteristics of the trial is appended.
